The aggregator has brought in a new mentoring partner to lift broker capability and support long‑term business growth.
Specialist Finance Group (SFG), the family‑owned aggregation group headquartered in Perth, has named broker training and mentoring provider Mr Mentor as its new mentoring and education partner, in a move it said would deepen support for brokers at every stage of their careers.
Under the agreement, SFG‑accredited brokers will gain access to what the group described as one of the country’s largest pools of active broking mentors.
The aim is to give new and experienced brokers alike a clear development pathway.
Mr Mentor will deliver its programs via its proprietary learning management system (LMS).
Mr Mentor said the platform was built to offer mentees a step‑by‑step learning experience while giving mentors live visibility over how brokers are engaging with content and progressing through milestones.
Mr Mentor director Melissa Robinson said the collaboration was underpinned by a shared focus on professional standards and practical outcomes.
“The partnership reflects a shared commitment to excellence. SFG understands that mentoring needs to be practical, structured and measurable,” she said.
“That’s exactly what we deliver – support that provides brokers with the skills and confidence to grow sustainable businesses.”
Robinson said that the design of the program is meant to add depth without dragging brokers away from client work.
“SFG brokers can tap into mentoring that strengthens their capability while freeing up their time. They can stay focused on what they do best – servicing clients and writing business,” Robinson said.
SFG flags ambition to ‘set the benchmark’
For SFG, the partnership is also about responding to the challenges facing new entrants in an increasingly demanding market.
SFG general manager Blake Buchanan said the agreement reinforced the group’s strategy of investing heavily in broker development and support.
“Having a reputable mentoring service is critical to long-term success in our industry. For too long, the failure rate among new-to-industry brokers has been unacceptably high. At SFG, we are committed to setting the benchmark by partnering with the very best,” Buchanan said.
“Mr Mentor will further strengthen our already robust framework, providing brokers with the support, guidance and expertise they need to build sustainable and successful businesses.”
SFG said the arrangement would give its network access to scalable, technology‑enabled mentoring aimed at lifting capability and sharpening efficiency.
