Aussie provides Christmas relief to less fortunate

by Reporter4 minute read

The major brokerage has marked its 21 years of providing support to less fortunate Australians over the Christmas period.

Aussie Home Loans has revealed that its team members and mortgage brokers have prepared over 300 food hampers, donated money and provided over one tonne of premium leg hams to OzHarvest, along with other charities it supports, in a bid to feed thousands of less fortunate Australians.

In addition, for the fourth consecutive year, CEO James Symond has donated an additional 5,000 meals on behalf of Aussie’s industry and business partners.

“Donations of food at this special time of the year is important for both the recipients and our team, who participate in giving back with care and compassion,” Mr Symond said.

“By rallying together in support of OzHarvest and getting behind their mission to nourish Australians, we are playing our part to give people a chance to enjoy a festive meal this year.

“We’re really proud to be celebrating 21 years of supporting Australians through food donations, after starting in 1998 with the Exodus Foundation’s Christmas Day lunch in Sydney.”

OzHarvest founder and CEO Ronni Kahn added: “We appreciate the ongoing support of Aussie at this special time of year to help ensure those in need receive the joy of Christmas.”

OzHarvest collects over 180 tonnes of quality excess food from food donors nationwide each week and delivers to more than 1,300 charities, providing much-needed assistance to vulnerable men, women and children.
