Q. How and why did you become a partnership manager with nMB?
Prior to joining nMB, I worked with Liberty Financial as a business development manager for residential lending. In that role, I supported many brokers, including nMB, across Victoria and Tasmania and quickly developed strong relationships with both the broker network and the nMB team.
Having worked with nMB brokers throughout my time at Liberty, I’d already developed a strong connection with the network and the team behind it. Joining nMB gave me the opportunity to work more closely with brokers on their business and become part of a team I genuinely enjoyed working with.
Since joining, I’ve gained an even broader understanding of the broking and lending landscape and have thoroughly enjoyed supporting brokers at different stages of their business journey.
Q. Why did you join nMB, and what do you most like about working there?
Without question, it’s the people. nMB has a genuinely supportive and close-knit team that is passionate about helping brokers succeed. Everyone is aligned in putting our brokers first and working together to find solutions and deliver positive outcomes.
I also enjoy the relationships we build with our broker business partners. Every business is different, and it’s incredibly rewarding to work alongside brokers as they grow, overcome challenges, and achieve their goals. Being able to contribute to that success is one of the most enjoyable aspects of the role.
Q. How do you work across the broker/mortgage sector to ensure the best outcomes for nMB?
The success of nMB is ultimately built on the success of the broker businesses we partner with. My role is focused on staying connected with our brokers and understanding the unique challenges and opportunities within their businesses.
This can include business planning, reviewing operational processes, supporting recruitment and team development, identifying growth opportunities, and helping brokers navigate compliance and regulatory requirements. By taking the time to understand each business and providing tailored support, we can help brokers build sustainable, successful operations.
Q. What are your top tips to enable brokers to work more efficiently with lenders?
My biggest tip is to invest time in building strong relationships with your lender partners and BDMs. Good communication and collaboration can make a significant difference when navigating complex scenarios and achieving better outcomes for clients.
Another key to efficiency is doing the work upfront. Ensuring client information is complete, any potential issues are identified and addressed early, and applications are structured based on what the lender requires.
Additionally, lean on us when you need it. One of the biggest strengths of being part of a network like nMB is access to experienced support, lender relationships, and collective knowledge. Don’t be afraid to leverage those resources. Reaching out for assistance can often save time, improve client outcomes, and help deals progress more smoothly.
Ultimately, preparation, communication, and collaboration are the foundations of working efficiently with lenders and delivering great customer outcomes.
