4 signs you need to do a life reset in 2024

Challenges, complexity, and distractions can lead us into one of four negative states that stop us from leading the life we want. We are all on a journey to live a life filled with purpose, good health, love, intimacy, fun, and financial success. However, the world we live in is also rife with setbacks, challenges, complexity, and distractions that often lead us into one of four negative states and stop us from living the life that we desire.

By recognising these negative states and undertaking a life reset, you can get back to baseline where you are in the right frame of mind to upgrade your health, your relationships, and your finances.

Negative mindset #1: Feeling overwhelmed (doing too much)

Why we fall into this state:

  • You feel inadequate, like you don’t do enough or have enough, so you end up doing too much to prove your worth.
  • You have difficulty saying no, often due to people-pleasing tendencies.
  • You neglect to prioritise and respect your health, pushing yourself to the limit. You think you are bulletproof.

Negative mindset #2: Feeling lost (doing the wrong things)

Telltale signs:

  • Low energy
  • Feeling drained by tasks
  • Lack of enthusiasm
  • Doing things that do not inspire you
  • You become resentful of the people in your life

Why we fall into this state:

  • You are always trying to make others happy without prioritising your own happiness.
  • “People pleasing”.
  • Suffering from a lack of self-identity and clarity in your own desires.
  • You have lost sight of your own goals and what really lights you up.

Negative mindset #3: Feeling stale (doing the same old things)

Telltale signs:

  • Monotonous routine
  • Comfort zone living
  • Resistance to change
  • Accelerated ageing, both mentally and physically

Why we fall into this state:

  • Embracing your comfort zone as a lifestyle choice.
  • Fearing change or innovation.
  • Neglecting your need for growth and transformation.

Negative mindset #4: Feeling stuck (doing nothing)

This is a sad state to be in because you may know what you want out of life, but choose not to go after it.

Telltale signs:

  • Chronic and irrational worry
  • Making excuses
  • Holding grudges
  • Care too much about what others think of you

Why we fall into this state:

  • Fears and emotional obstacles. Fear of failure, rejection, and ridicule.
  • Overwhelming yourself with too many goals.
  • Don’t know where to start when it comes to goals.

Two reasons why you should care about doing a life reset

Reason #1: Don’t wait until it’s too late

These four telltale signs first emerge as subtle whispers. If you ignore them, they will manifest more forcefully, causing you to pay greater attention.

Protracted periods of feeling overwhelmed, lost, stale, or stuck can ultimately lead to significant physical and mental health issues.

Neglecting these early warning signs may result in conditions such as sleep problems, digestive disorders, depression, diabetes, and broken relationships.

Reason #2: Why waste a minute of your life?

Life is fleeting and wasting precious time living a suboptimal or unhappy existence is a disservice to yourself and those around you. Every individual possesses unique gifts and the potential to make a positive impact on the world, even in their small, individual way.

By recognising and addressing these negative mindsets, you can unleash your brilliance and leave a lasting mark on the planet. Do not settle for mediocrity when you are capable of so much more.
