Boutique players here to stay

by Jessica Darnbrough7 minute read

Boutique aggregators will always play an important role in the third party distribution channel, Ballast’s Frank Paratore has claimed.

Speaking to The Adviser, Mr Paratore said while consolidation in the aggregation space was “unavoidable”, he said there would always be boutique aggregators operating in the space as they meet certain broker needs that the larger players cannot.

“Consolidation is one of those things that no doubt will continue in the industry as it continues in any industry, but I think it’s important for boutiques to stick around in the market place. More than that, I would encourage more competition in the boutique space, as while economy of scale is important, I feel boutique players a different level of service,” he said.

“I believe boutique aggregators are essential to the longevity of this industry.”
