Award-winning broker: Tamara Virgo

Tamara Virgo

It takes something pretty special to nab multiple wins at The Adviser’s Better Business Awards. We find out how this WA-based broker bagged the awards she did.

Some might say that big-city brokers get all the gongs. Being based in the big smoke means plenty of demand, larger loan sizes and a more competitive market.

TV Financial Services and Planning is proof that this isn’t the case. Tamara Virgo, who runs the Esperance-based brokerage, took home Best Regional Broker, Best Regional Office and Broker of the Year at the 2017 Better Business Awards in Perth back in March.

With a loan book worth more than $140 million, Ms Virgo has achieved what most metropolitan mortgage professionals are still striving for.

Despite its remote location 750 kilometres south of Perth, TV Financial Services prides itself on increasing its business footprint into different areas of Western Australia.

“In order to meet the needs of our growing client base, we have further developed strategic priorities and improved our systems so that geography is no barrier,” Mr Virgo said.

“Our vision is to be the leading financial services provider in our community, empowering and educating people with quality advice and solutions.”

What made Tamara Virgo and her brokerage a standout in 2017 was a passion for the profession and a dedication to delivering first-class service. Part of her philosophy is providing a level of service comparable to what customers can source in the big cities. This has fostered client retention and business growth, ensuring that clients have no need to seek services elsewhere.

In addition to traditional mortgage broking, the group offers financial planning. It also focuses on educating all of its customers. Strategic partnerships and community support programs are also a big feature for this award-wining brokerage.

If you have a unique story, a slick business model or a clear point of difference, then get your submissions in for the 2018 Better Business Awards. You’ve got to be in it to win it, as they say.

Submissions have already started flooding in for the Better Business Awards 2018. Participate by nominating someone now or entering your own submission.

Over the last four years, the Better Business Summit has attracted more than 16,000 attendees, named more than 1,000 finalists and crowned at least 300 Better Business Awards winners.
