FBAA to launch free conference

by Jessica Darnbrough7 minute read

The Finance Brokers Association of Australia (FBAA) has taken a bold step by announcing its annual conference will not only be free of charge to all members, but open to all industry professionals.

FBAA national president Peter White said the November 8 event would be held at Sea World theme park on Queensland’s Gold Coast and will feature the theme, ‘Masters of the Universe’.

Mr White explained the theme was based around “assisting industry professionals to master their own universe before they can do anything else”.

He described it as a practical event that will help brokers embrace all facets of the industry and build their practices.

In another unusual move, the conference will be held for one day only. Most industry conferences are held over several days. Mr White, however, said the move was a result of feedback from industry professionals.

“Many brokers have told us they are too busy to allocate much time away from the office, so with a one-day conference you can fly in just for the day or stay overnight,” he said.

“While there will be opportunity to network and catch up with others across the industry, it will include eight hours of CPD and will provide real and beneficial information for all finance professionals.”

The FBAA said the free conference registration was a benefit of membership but that it was an “industry conference” and all industry professionals are welcome. Non-members will pay $99 to attend.

“We are committed to making this conference an essential part of the annual calendar for every finance broker in Australia, whether they are FBAA members or not. All speakers are finance industry experts in their fields,” he said.
