Who will be crowned Australia’s brightest broker?

by Staff Reporter10 minute read

The search for Australia’s brightest broker is underway again, with the first round of BrokerIQ opening today.

Now in its third year, BrokerIQ, an initiative of St George Bank and The Adviser, will test brokers on a range of topics, including general industry knowledge, product and finance.

As well as being recognised as the brightest broker in Australia, the winner of BrokerIQ will land an attractive cash prize of $5,000.

Jim Hall, publisher of The Adviser, said the competition has grown each year and has become one of the industry’s most anticipated events.

“Brokers are a competitive bunch and this is a great way to showcase the industry’s most knowledgeable operators in a fun and light-hearted manner,” Mr Hall said.

“Since [BrokerIQ's] inception in 2011, Home Loan Experts' Otto Dargan has proven his expertise and knowledge – seeming almost unbeatable.

“Will this year be the same? It’s hard to say, but I wish all entrants the best of luck as they brace themselves for the first round questions.”

Round one of Broker IQ consists of 20 multiple choice questions. Brokers will be judged not only on the accuracy of their responses but on how quickly they can complete the questionnaire.

The brokers who complete the quiz most accurately and most quickly will move through to round two.

The second round will narrow the field to just six brokers, who will then go head-to-head for the title of Australia’s Brightest Broker in front of more than 400 industry guests at the Australian Broking Awards luncheon on August 2.
