MFAA relocation means ‘increased productivity’

by Huntley Mitchell10 minute read

The MFAA is now closer to industry firms and is offering brokers hot desk facilities since its recent move to pricier premises in the centre of Sydney.

Chief executive Siobhan Hayden said the association is now closer to brokers, lenders and aggregators since moving its office from Neutral Bay to Pitt Street.

“It will make us more efficient as an association and we have more space per square metre in the new office, so we can support our own growth as well as the growth of the industry,” she told The Adviser.

“I’m averaging about five meetings a day now, which was not possible in Neutral Bay.”

Ms Hayden said the move also means that the MFAA can now host important events rather than hiring boardrooms in the city.

“Team productivity has increased as well because we’re all working together in an open-plan environment,” she said.

The new office costs more to rent than the previous office, although Ms Hayden said the MFAA is now saving money on parking and taxi fares.

Ms Hayden said the MFAA has also created four new hot desks for brokers to use.

“We’ve already had a few brokers utilise our hot desks – one of which was moving office and wanted to get some work during the switch,” she said.

“I’m confident that over the next 12 months, people will become more comfortable with the idea of using these hot desks and do it. And we always have people dropping by to say hi now, which is nice.”
