Regional brokers to be recognised at Australian Broking Awards

by Huntley Mitchell10 minute read

The category line-up for The Adviser’s Australian Broking Awards has been expanded to reward top brokers who were previously going unrecognised.

Often overshadowed because of lower house values this year’s Awards will recognise Australia’s best regional broker and broker office.

Introduced for the 2015 Australian Broking Awards are Regional Broker of the Year and Best Regional Office, with submissions to be assessed on key factors including number of loans written, loan volume growth, loan book growth, productivity and customer service.

This will make the fifth annual Australian Broking Awards the first national awards to recognise the success of regional brokers.

The Adviser’s publisher, Jim Hall, said regional brokers are often overlooked in other award categories because the house prices in their local area are generally lower than those of metro brokers.

“However, many of Australia’s best regional brokers, in terms of customer service and productivity, stack up against the very best in the industry,” he said.

“It is important to recognise brokers in regional Australia. These awards will not only add value to the finalists and winners but help elevate the mortgage broking profession in a number of Australia’s regional markets.”

This year’s awards will also be highlighting the growth in brokers writing loans outside of the residential market and recognise the outstanding achievement of those brokers writing asset finance and commercial loans, with

Asset Finance Broker of the Year and Commercial Broker of the Year added to the award category line-up.

Submissions for the 2015 Australian Broking Awards, partnered by Commonwealth Bank close on Monday 4 May, with the winners to be announces at a five-star luncheon at the Royal Hall of Industries in Sydney on 31 July.
