Connective announces new state manager for NSW

by Adrian Suljanovic8 minute read

The aggregator has announced the appointment of Melanie Griffin as the new state manager for NSW.

Melanie Griffin entered her new role following Fiona Haron moving on into the role of sales executive for NSW after 15 years.

Ms Griffin carries 30 years of experience in financial services ranging across retail banking, credit unions, and mortgage aggregation during her last two years with FAST.

In her new role, Ms Griffin is responsible for supporting members within NSW. According to Connective, over 430 brokers joined the NSW Connective community last year, making it the largest of all states.

Ms Haron’s new role has her in charge of driving future growth through recruitment, being the first face-to-face Connective contact for many brokers along with taking on a mentoring and coaching role within NSW and wider sales team.

Both Ms Griffin and Ms Haron have commenced with their new positions, effective from 6 February 2023.

Head of broker channel at Connective, Brad Clucas, said the aggregator’s NSW team is “stronger than ever” and confident in the outlook for 2023 following an “incredible period of growth throughout 2022”.

“Melanie is so passionate about strengthening our industry, leading high performing teams and building strong relationships with brokers — naturally, she’s a great fit for Connective and we’re excited to see her expertise support the growth of our members businesses,” Mr Clucas said.

“Fiona is an exceptional talent and in recognition of her incredible relationship management skills and having strengthened our member support capabilities, Fiona will now dedicate her focus on introducing and welcoming new members to Connective.”

Mortgage Choice appoints state manager SA/NT

In another state manager hire, brokerage and aggregator Mortgage Choice appointed Ben Livera as its new state manager for South Australia and Northern Territory in late January 2023.

Mr Livera filled the role following the retirement of former state manager Amanda Scott, who held the position for over five years during her 25-year career in financial services.

Having commenced with his role on 30 January, Mr Livera reports to general manager distribution, Aaron Slater and is in charge of overall performance and business growth in NT and South Australia.

He’s also responsible for recruitment, development of franchise teams, and franchise growth.

Prior to his role with Mortgage Choice, Mr Livera worked as a franchise development manager (FDM) for over half a decade.
