Animal farm

I live on acreage, and my youngest daughter is a bit of an animal fanatic, so we have what she calls the farm at home. So, I get put to work on the farm quite regularly, which is probably an opportunity to disconnect. We’ve got goats and ponies and chooks and ducks and geese and guinea pigs and dogs – it’s a menagerie.

Switching off

I just roll into bedtime, dad mode, husband mode, and then working again.

That’s the monotonous nature of my week, but I’m also very comfortable with that.

For me, I can just see the bigger picture.

Running ahead

I like to run. I have done it for many years. It really helps clear my mind. I actually do it really early in the morning. I like to get it done before I start my workday, and it really helps me.

We live close to the beach as well, so if I’ve done the run already – and I need some extra downtime – I just hang out at the beach.

Catch of the day

On the weekend, I just had to get away with a couple of mates and go fishing.

So, we went up to Double Island Point – we had a beer and we caught 30 fish and we drove home on Sunday – and it was amazing.

Surfing’s also a big one. There’s probably about four or five surfboards in the office at the moment.
