Brokers can join the thousands of Australians starting the new financial year off with a break from the booze as part of Dry July, while raising money for a good cause.

Every year, Dry July participants raise money for people affected by cancer by setting a fundraising target and collecting donations.

While the charity component remains the driving force behind the initiative, Dry July also offers busy professionals, including brokers, an opportunity to reassess habits that can influence both their physical and mental wellbeing.

Chloe McLeod, professional sports dietitian, nutrition consultant, and Dry July ambassador, encouraged everyone who can to take part in the initiative.

“It can feel impossible to dodge having a drink when you want to be part of the group vibe – and before you know it, you’re waking up with a dry mouth and a nasty hangover again,” she said.

“Dry July is a great way to reassess your relationship with alcohol consumption and see the health benefits of taking a month off.”
