Australians are encouraged to recognise the crucial importance of connections with loved ones, colleagues, and the wider community this month as part of World Mental Health Day.
Held on 10 October, World Mental Health Day provides an opportunity for people to prioritise their mental health and explore ways to strengthen initiatives that benefit everyone.
This year, Mental Health Australia is raising awareness about how meaningful day-to-day connections – along with access to appropriate support and services – form the cornerstone of an effective mental health strategy.
The organisation’s website offers free tools, tips, and resources to help Australians take positive steps to care for their own mental wellbeing and explore ways to support others.
Mental Health Australia CEO Carolyn Nikoloski said everyone has a role to play in encouraging better mental health awareness at home, at work, and in their communities.
“World Mental Health Day is a global event to raise awareness for mental health, and it’s not only an important event for our organisation, but for the entire mental health sector in Australia,” she said.
