Westpac confirms new retail banking head

WESTPAC BANKING Corporation (Westpac) has confirmed that Carolyn McCann, the major’s former group executive, customer and corporate services and acting consumer CEO, will lead its retail banking arm as permanent CEO of its consumer division.

McCann has been with Westpac since 2013, overseeing corporate affairs, marketing, fraud prevention, customer collections, and hardship support.

She now takes on the role of CEO, consumer, after serving as acting CEO following Jason Yetton’s departure in April.

With around 20 years of experience in banking and finance, McCann previously spent nearly 12 years at insurance company IAG in various corporate affairs and communications roles.

Westpac CEO Anthony Miller praised her appointment, saying McCann has helped accelerate the bank’s mortgage performance in recent months.

Mortgage Domayne appoints industry stalwart

SEASONED FINANCIAL services executive Andrew Gooding has joined Mortgage Domayne as the Victoria-based brokerage’s chief commercial officer.

Gooding started in the new role in July, responsible for driving growth, establishing new revenue channels, and maximising commercial potential.

He has a wide range of experience across financial services and broking, most recently serving as chief marketing officer of Perth-based finance brokerage Nationwise Group.

His CV also includes time as CEO of open banking fintech diñeiro and as marketing director for aggregation giants PLAN Australia, Choice Aggregation Services, and FAST.

Mark Polatkesen, Mortgage Domayne’s managing director, described Gooding as an exceptional leader with a “rare ability to blend strategic insight with operational execution”.

LMG welcomes new regional director

AGGREGATION GROUP LMG has welcomed Mel Griffin as regional director – north.

The newly created role will see her work across NSW, Queensland, and the ACT, where she will support the group’s broker-facing teams across each region.

Griffin brings more than 30 years’ experience across banking and broking to the role, including stints as regional sales manager at Aussie and NSW state manager at Connective.

She was also previously at LMG as NSW partnerships manager.

LMG national director Rob Thomas said Griffin’s return would give brokers better support.

“Mel knows what brokers need because she’s been one, and she’s spent her career backing them,” Thomas said.

Former CBA head of broker joins Westpac

WESTPAC BANKING Corporation (Westpac) has welcomed Adam Croucher as its new state general manager for the Victorian/Tasmanian broker business.

Croucher has more than 20 years of experience in financial services, predominantly at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA), where he worked closely with the broker channel. His time at CBA included stints as general manager, third-party banking (2018–23) and as state manager for Victoria/Tasmania.

Most recently, Croucher worked at non-bank lender Pepper Money, where he was responsible for growth in Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia, and the Northern Territory.

In his new role, he will run the major’s broker channel relationships and influence policy, process, and technology changes in the southern states.

Welcoming Croucher to the team, the bank’s head of broker distribution, Sarah Willsallen, noted his “strong intellect, depth of experience and personal passion for the broker channel”.
