The Better Business Awards is the mortgage and finance industry's leading program for state-based performance - focused on mortgage brokers and the lenders and service providers that support them.
Key to successful broking is building up a local presence and servicing clients in your immediate catchment area. Local area marketing is critical to truly excel, with several brokers clearly leading the way.
The Better Business Awards not only acknowledges the brokers who are leading the charge – those with the most effective businesses, teams, marketing strategies and integrated offerings – but also the lenders and aggregator BDMs that are best servicing brokers’ evolving needs.
The event also provides a unique opportunity to celebrate the top-performing brokers in each state, who may not always get recognition at a national level.
Moreover, the awards give finalists and winners the opportunity to leverage local area marketing opportunities.
Participation in the Better Business Awards is open to all brokers and brokerages, regardless of whether they are aligned with a brokerage, aggregator, lender or industry association.
The awards will be hosted as a dinner, held in the same venue as the conference, and will follow networking drinks after the conclusion of the Better Business Conference.
Setting a new benchmark
The Adviser has developed a robust methodology for the Better Business Awards that leverages its distribution capabilities, market knowledge and strong mortgage industry networks.
Using a bespoke submission scoreboard and strict assessment requirements, The Adviser will apply an integrated methodology that involves:
STAGE 1: Nominations open – Friday 6 October 2017
To streamline the entry process and save you time, minimum entry requirements have been set. Before submitting an expression of interest, please ensure you satisfy the minimum requirements for the category you are entering. A full list of requirements can be found in each category description.
To enter an award category simply click the enter now button above and you will be taken straight through to the online entry system and can immediately start your submission.
If you wish to nominate a colleague, simply click the nominate now button above and fill in the details on the nominations page. Your nominee will be notified via email and requested to complete their submission (no emailed or paper submissions will be accepted).
STAGE 2: Online submissions – close on Friday 10 November 2017
In stage two, you will be required to complete an online submission outlining key business metrics and answer a number of open-ended questions (up to 300 words per question). It is important that the key business metrics you provide meet the minimum requirements for each category. Submissions not meeting these requirements will not be assessed.
STAGE 3: Judging process begins – Monday 13 November 2017
Submissions will be assessed against key metrics, business performance parameters and the additional details provided in the open-ended questions. The Adviser will contact nominated companies for further information if required, including for confirmation of specific figures. An expert panel of judges will review and score each submission with one winner per category to be selected from the list of finalists in each state.
STAGE 4: Finalists announced –Week of 4 December 2017
A list of finalists will be produced for each award in each state for each category. Group and individual finalists will be contacted directly, as well as published on the Better Business Summit’s and The Adviser’s websites.
STAGE 5: Winners announced – live at each state location
One winner per award category will be selected from the list of finalists, with the awards presented at the state awards dinners between 15 February and 15 March 2018.
