A well-known mortgage lending veteran with more than 15 years’ experience in Australia and the UK is set to feature at the FBAA’s 2016 National Tour this month.

Steve Weston, who previously worked in a number of lending roles for companies that include NAB and St George Bank, and was most recently CEO of mortgages at Barclays in the UK, has been confirmed as a guest speaker for the FBAA’s roadshow across Australia.

The FBAA’s Peter White said having Mr Weston feature as a guest speaker is a major coup for the event.

“Steve was instrumental in establishing a trio of successful mortgage broking aggregators, including PLAN, Choice and FAST,” he said.

“All up, he oversaw more than 4,000 brokers and $130 billion in mortgage balances, so it goes without saying he knows how to run a great business.”

Among the other guest speakers on the tour will be marketing expert Deena Janes from Your Client Matters.

“Deena is an expert on digital disruption, and will provide insight and clarity into this growing issue and just how brokers can best adapt to the ever-changing digital world,” Mr White said. “Her session will have something in it for everybody.”

Open to all brokers, the FBAA’s National Tour kicks off in Brisbane on 25 May, with subsequent events in Sydney (15 June), Melbourne (6 July), Hobart (8 July), Adelaide (3 August), Perth (5 August) and Darwin (7 September).
