The Brett ‘Hollywood’ Hartley Charity Golf Day
The 2025 Brett “Hollywood” Hartley Charity Golf Day delivered its biggest impact yet, raising over $97,000 for Chris O’Brien Lifehouse – a milestone that reflects the generosity, energy, and community spirit behind this much-loved annual event.
Sydney-based brokerage FirstPoint said it was proud to once again support a day that blends camaraderie, competition, and purpose, with golfers of all skill levels coming together under perfect conditions.
At its heart, the event is about two things: raising money for the extraordinary work of Chris O’Brien Lifehouse and honouring the memory of Brett “Hollywood” Hartley – the reason this day exists – and the spirit that continues to bring everyone back year after year.
FirstPoint said what makes this event special is the collective drive to do good, give back, and celebrate community. The funds raised – well past the $97,000 mark – will help support world-leading cancer treatment and research that make a real difference to patients and families.
The brokerage commented: “FirstPoint extends its thanks to every player, organiser, sponsor and supporter who contributed to another incredible year. We’re honoured to stand behind this event and look forward to continuing Brett’s legacy for many years to come.”

FBAA National Industry Conference and Gala Dinner
The FBAA National Industry Conference was held on Halloween (31 October) at the RACV Royal Pines on the Gold Coast, attracting over 650 delegates and more than 50 exhibitors. The program included sessions with speakers, such as Assistant Treasurer and Financial Services Minister Daniel Mulino MP, former Westpac Group chief economist Besa Deda, CoreData founder Andrew Inwood, and Martin Heppell from The Resilience Project.
The conference also included industry announcements, notably the appointment of Melbourne-based Brett Spencer – founder and CEO of DocuScan Australia – as the FBAA’s new chairman.
Following the conference, the 2025 FBAA Gala Dinner brought together more than 400 guests for a Halloween-themed evening featuring live entertainment and the presentation of the Awards of Supremacy. The event provided networking opportunities and industry recognition, closing out the year for the FBAA community.
