Lead generation expert to share 3 key secrets to LinkedIn

One of LinkedIn’s endorsed SME advocates will be sharing with brokers across the country how they can leverage the platform to increase their businesses’ profitability through new revenue streams at an event next month.

Now in its second year, The Adviser’s highly esteemed New Revenue Streams Boot Camp has secured one of Australia and New Zealand’s top 20 LinkedIn influencers Jane Anderson to talk to mortgage brokers about tapping into the platform’s capabilities to cost-effectively grow their businesses.

Speaking to The Adviser, Ms Anderson highlighted that of the more than 7 million Australians on LinkedIn, 40 per cent use it every single day, which presents brokers with a unique opportunity to connect with people.

“For the other revenue streams that are available to you, particularly if it’s around commercial lending or something like that, you’ve got a captive audience,” Ms Anderson elaborated.

Ms Anderson explained that compared to other social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook, LinkedIn is a search engine which provides targeted results based on existing connections.

She also pointed out that LinkedIn can help to give small brokerages an edge over large companies.

“What makes LinkedIn unique compared to the other platforms is that you can turn up at the top of a Google search as a result of how you’ve built your profile,” Ms Anderson commented.

“One of the challenges for brokers is that they can be a small player in a big industry, so where LinkedIn gives them an advantage is that if they write their profile correctly, and if they’re connected to enough people, they can actually beat the big players,” she said.

“I worked with an organisation that had 10 salespeople, small players in a big industry competing against the big ones; we built profiles for all their individuals and their profiles turned up on the first page of Google search results — for free,” she added.

Ms Anderson said that during her session, she will debunk some of the myths around LinkedIn in emphasising that it’s not merely an online resume or “a Facebook for businesses”.

She will also share with brokers the three key secrets to LinkedIn and how they can leverage their profile for lead generation in less than seven minutes per day.

The Adviser’s New Revenue Streams Boot Camp events will start in Perth on Thursday 22 September, followed by Brisbane on Thursday 6 October, Sydney on Wednesday 12 October and finally Melbourne on Friday 14 October.
