Booger joined the Royal Australia Air Force as a fighter pilot over 20 years ago and still serves in the Air Force as a pilot today. During his service, he was selected to fly the F/A-18 Hornet in the US on a two-year fighter pilot exchange program with the United States Marine Corps. Booger is a Qualified Flying Instructor and has helped many young aviators turn their aspirations into reality, to ‘get their wings’.
Booger also served at the Air Force’s Central Flying School as an ‘Instructor-of-Instructors’, teaching senior pilots the art of flying instruction. During this time, he flew in the Air Force’s formation aerobatics team, the Roulettes – His experience in the Roulettes exemplified the critical importance of working as a team to get things done.
Booger is considered one of the top fighter pilots globally for his work as a “JTAC”, a pilot turned soldier. JTAC’s have been made famous with their portrayal in movies calling in fighter jets to support special forces troops under fire in combat. Booger regularly works with Australian and US Special Forces in this role. As a power lifter in his spare time, one of Booger’s unique claims is his ability to squat the same weight as the bombs his aircraft carry! Over 500lbs!
Currently Booger serves as a Squadron Leader overseeing the Australian Defence Force operationals flight. This Squadron provides support to Army, Navy and Air Force across every mission profile a fighter aircraft is capable of flying.
Booger has been a speaker and performance coach with Afterburner for over 15 years. He has delivered keynotes all over the world and brings a unique sense of humour to his speaking as he shares his experiences as a fighter pilot. Booger brings a wealth of knowledge thanks to his work with hundreds of organisations, including elite sporting teams, on how to keep complex plans simple, so organisations can achieve their goals efficiently and consistently.
