by Nick Bendel10 minute read

One of the industry’s brightest young talents has been crowned Western Australia’s best broker.

Bianca Patterson of Momentum Wealth was named both Broker of the Year and Best Newcomer at the WA Better Business Awards, held last night in Perth.

Ms Patterson previously finished 25th in The Adviser’s 2013 Young Broker of the Year award ranking.

Momentum Wealth was also named Western Australia's Best Independent Office with fewer than five brokers.

Mortgage Choice Cannington's principal, Leteisha Pileggi, was named Rising Star, a year after finishing as runner-up in the Young Broker of the Year award with volumes of $82 million.

Mortgage Solutions Australia took home two gongs, with Colin Lamb crowned Best Residential Broker and Kristie Byrne named Best Loan Administrator.

House & Home Loans also claimed two awards: the brokerage won Best Integrated Offering and was named joint winner with Rate Detective for Best Independent Office with more than five brokers.

The other six awards were shared by Bankwest, Choice Aggregation Services, Finance Achievers, Mortgage Choice Perth, Purely Finance and TV Financial Services. Click here for the full list of winners.

Last night’s gala awards dinner was held at the Crown Perth and marked the end of the five-state Better Business Summit roadshow.

The Adviser’s publisher, Jim Hall, said that Perth was a fitting end to the inaugural series of summits.

“It’s been a great privilege to have been able to take this event to Perth. The calibre of finalists and the engagement from brokers during both the awards and the conference was outstanding.”
