Brokers not utilising software

Almost 90 per cent of brokers say they do not capitalise on their software’s features.

According to The Adviser Bankwest Broker Software and Technology Report, 88.3 per cent of brokers say they do not use 100 per cent of their software’s features.

Moreover, almost 23 per cent admitted to only using 20 to 50 per cent of the features.

AFG’s chief technology officer Jamie Vogel told The Adviser the statistics were disappointing since a “software platform with the right combination of features and capabilities can significantly improve a broker’s operations”.

“Broker software must be intuitive, easy to use, reliable, fast and continually evolving,” he said.

“Software is like your silent business partner – you just want to get on with the job as efficiently, effortlessly and professionally as possible, with confidence that the structure and support behind the scenes is robust and reliable, and that will grow as your business grows.”

Finance Made Easy’s Tony Bice agreed and said software becomes the key that drives a broker’s business.

“How well you use that software will determine how well you conduct your business and how proficient you are with your clients,” he said.
