Jessica is one of Australia’s most respected mortgage and real estate industry journalists and currently heads the editorial team for The Adviser. Jessica is backed by more than six years experience on a number of consumer/business titles and has played an integral role in developing the editorial structure of Sterling Publishing’s print and online products.
Vivienne Kelly, features editor
Vivienne is no stranger to the Australian real estate and financial markets. She began her career specialising in financial public relations before making the switch to journalism in November 2011. Backed with Bachelor of International Communication and Honours in Writing for Media at Macquarie University, Vivienne is certainly a valuable member of The Adviser team.
Steven Cross, journalist
Steven joins the team as an online news reporter, having completed a Diploma in Journalism at Macleay College in 2011. His passion for writing has seen him freelance across numerous magazines and titles where he developed a keen interest in finance and the ability to uncover news.
Jim Hall, publisher
Publisher of The Adviser - 2012 B2B Magazine of the Year, Integrated Media Brand of the Year and winner of Publishers Australia Excellence Award 2012. Jim has been involved with publishing for the mortgage and finance broking industry for over 8 years witnessing the huge change that has occurred in transforming the industry into the professional one we see today. Jim has a deep passion for the broking industry and with The Adviser’s strong brand and influence throughout the industry he has enjoyed leading a team that is not just a publisher of magazines but a stakeholder in the industry itself.
Alex Whitlock, group publisher
Alex is a veteran in mortgage and finance publishing. He launched Australia’s first independent mortgage industry magazine in 2001 and has since successfully published a number of other titles for mortgage and real estate professionals. Alex is now a leading writer and commentator on all aspects of buying, financing, selling and managing residential property.
Francis Wilkins, chief sub editor
Francis has 16 years’ experience as a journalist, in Australia and the United States, and prior to covering the mortgage and real estate markets he specialised in environmental affairs, public infrastructure and the legal profession.
Lucy Allman – sub-editor
Lucy joined the Sterling team in from the UK having completed a bachelor of English and Spanish at the University of Exeter. In 2007 she spent a year living in Spain launching a bilingual project at a secondary school whilst teaching English. Prior to joining Sterling in 2012, Lucy was employed by one of the largest publishing houses outside London, working across a range of consumer titles, both national and international.
Daniel Williams – head of design
As the head of design at Sterling Publishing, Daniel oversees the branding and design of all magazines and associated products. Since completing a Bachelor of Arts: Visual Communication at Raffles College of Design and Commerce, Dan has worked with a number of large national publishers across advertising and newspapers. His design proficiency and flair was highlighted at the 2012 Australian Publishers Awards, where he was awarded B2B Designer of the Year. Daniel is currently undertaking a Masters in Art Administration at the College of Fine Arts.
Matthew Sullivan, communications executive
Matthew joined Sterling Publishing as a journalist working across various online and print products for investors, real estate agents and mortgage professionals. It was during this time that Matthew helped launch the real estate industry’s premier online and print product Real Estate Business. Today Matthew is a key member of Sterling Publishing's communications team, helping to drive communications and public relations initiatives.
Lydia Allen, communications coordinator
Lydia has recently relocated from Queensland having completed a Bachelor of Arts and Business from the University of the Sunshine Coast. She has a passion for Public Relations with her experience spanning media relations, event management and communications.
Adam Arnou, AV producer
With seven years experience producing and directing video and digital media across multiple channels, Adam drives the development of Sterling Publishing’s various multimedia platforms. Since graduating from Macquarie University with a BA in Multimedia, his passion for digital media has evolved. A media savvy and creative producer, his video, audio and photography material are used across all of Sterling Publishing's products.
